OLONGAPO CITY — An unvaccinated elderly woman here was the lone new COVID-19 case of the city on Tuesday, November 16, data from the local government showed.

The 75-year-old resident of Barangay Sta. Rita was symptomatic based on the record released by the city’s COVID-19 task force.

As of Tuesday, the city’s active cases stood at 22, its lowest since March this year.

Three more virus-infected patients were cleared of the viral disease on the same day, raising to 5,113 its number of recoveries out of 5,448 confirmed COVID-19 cases since last year. It reflected a 94-percent recovery rate.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. has ordered the voluntary wearing of face shields in public places following the official declaration of President Duterte scrapping the policy.

Olongapo was placed under Alert Level 2, the second least restrictive containment classification in the country.
