OLONGAPO CITY—The city government opened on Monday another jab site to allow more residents to have access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

The city information office said the latest venue for the mass inoculation is SM downtown, which could accommodate at least 1,000 recipients per day. It is the third vaccination site in the city.

The SMX convention center of SM Olongapo Central and the Rizal Triangle Multipurpose Center have been the two major vaccination sites of the city that could accommodate at least 1,000 people each.

As of Nov. 15, the city had vaccinated 109,341 residents. At least 64,060 of them are fully vaccinated.

The city has to vaccinate 70 percent of its 260,317 population to achieve herd immunity.
