Number of violators of health protocols nationwide declines — DILG

MANILA, Philippines — The number of violations on health protocols against COVID-19 decreased in the past week, the Department of the Interior and Local Government reported.
During President Rodrigo Duterte’s Talk to the People aired on Tuesday, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año presented data showing a total of 93,182 total health protocol violations from November 7 to 12.
This was lower than October 31 to November 6’s record of 107,858.
“Dito din po sa ating recorded violations na natala nitong nakaraang linggo, bumaba rin po ang mga violators,” Año said.
(Here in our recorded violations for the past week, the number of violators declined.)
Based on the figures, 62,777 violated the wearing of face masks, 789 conducted mass gatherings, and 29,616 failed to observe physical distancing.
According to Año, they observe that Filipinos follow health protocols.
“Ang ibig sabihin po nito ay nakita naman natin na sumusunod ang ating mga kababayan. Bagamat nakita natin na talagang nagdagsaan ang ating mga kababayan sa paglabas, siguro po ay nasabik lamang sila dahil sa matagal na lockdown nung nakaraang one and a half year,” he said.
(This means that we observe our fellow Filipinos following the protocols. While we saw that there was a surge of people going out, it may be because they were excited since they have been in homes for the past one and a half years.)
“Pero, makita po natin na huhupa naman ito. At kahapon po nag-ikot kami at nakita namin na sumusunod naman ang ating mga kababayan sa minimum public health standard,” he added.
(But we project that it will go down. Yesterday, we roamed around and saw that they comply with minimum public health standards.)
