MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 1,926 more infections of COVID-19 and 3,140 new recoveries, bringing down active infections in the country to 28,102.
The new cases, meanwhile, bring the total confirmed cases to 2,816,980.
It also represents 3.9 percent of the 40,996 individuals tested — below 5 percent, indicating controlled transmission of the virus, according to the World Health Organization’s standards.
Meanwhile, the number of new recoveries raised the total number of patients who have recuperated to 2,743,297.
Of those afflicted with the serious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the majority or 62.3 percent are only mild cases, 5.8 percent asymptomatic, 16.94 percent moderate, 10.5 percent severe, and 4.5 percent critical.
Meanwhile, the death toll increased to 45,581 as the DOH logged 309 more deaths.
However, the DOH said two labs were not able to submit their data in the total tests conducted on November 12. These labs contribute, on average, 0.6 percent of samples tested and 0.3 percent of positive individuals.
The health agency also said that 26 duplicates were removed from the total case count — of which 24 were recoveries.
“Moreover, 245 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.
