Negros Occidental gov’t mulls incentives for villages with high COVID-19 jab rates

Bong Go caravanBACOLOD CITY––The Negros Occidental provincial government is studying granting incentives to barangays with high COVID-19 vaccination rates.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday that the barangays would be responsible for coming up with their vaccination lists and their performance in terms of vaccinated persons would be published.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, and provincial consultant Alfredo Benitez were discussing possible incentives for barangays that perform well, Diaz said.

“The incentives could include additional budgets for projects,” he said.
