Gov’t eyes 15 million more vaccinated Pinoys

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s vaccine czar, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., said the government will immunize up to 15 million people during the planned National COVID-19 Vaccination Days.

The three-day vaccination drive will be carried out through either a Department of Health (DOH) circular or an executive order declaring three consecutive days as a national holiday or National COVID-19 Vaccination Days, Galvez said.

Under the new government strategy, 4,000 to 5,000 vaccination centers will be established as fixed sites, mega vaccination sites, temporary posts and mobile vaccination sites.

The secretary said the preparation phase for the drive started on Nov. 1 and will continue until Nov. 28.

He added that the execution phase will be from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, but the drive will be sustained throughout December.
