Body of newborn baby found floating in Naga river

NAGA CITY — Police here discovered the body of a newborn baby boy floating in the Naga river on Wednesday morning.

Police reported that the baby was found at around 11 a.m. in Barangay (village) San Francisco.

Investigation revealed that the baby was possibly thrown into the river right after being born as the baby’s umbilical cord was still attached to its body.

Police also said the baby could be around seven to eight months into development.

Investigators said the villagers have seen somebody throw a box into the river where the baby was allegedly placed.

Authorities have been trying to find out the identity of the suspect while the baby’s body was buried in a nearby public cemetery also on Wednesday.
