37 percent of Olongapo target fully vaccinated vs COVID-19
OLONGAPO CITY––At least 103,441 residents in this city, comprising 57 percent of the target population, had been vaccinated against COVID-19, local data showed Monday, Nov. 8.
But only 37 percent or 67,299 of the target were fully vaccinated, including those who received the single-dose Janssen vaccine.
The city aims to inoculate 182,000 residents or 70 percent of its 260,000-population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
The vaccination turnout in the city still depended on the vaccine supply from the national government, local officials said.
It pales compared with some local governments that were either nearing or have hit their target herd immunity.

More eligible children were expected to get vaccinated Tuesday against the viral disease as the city resumes its pediatric vaccination at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital.
