Man shot dead on his doorstep in Quezon

LUCENA CITY––A 47-year-old man was shot and killed by a still-unidentified assailant, who knocked on his door in Tiaong town in Quezon province early Monday.

Tiaong police reported that Jorge De Torres was awakened from his sleep when someone knocked on the door of his house in Barangay Guinting at 1:15 a.m.

When he opened the door, a gunman shot him repeatedly. He died on the spot while the killer escaped after the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive behind the incident.
Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant.
