MANILA, Philippines — Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police, ordered on Friday the Anti-Kidnapping Group to conduct a thorough investigation of the abduction of six persons in Batangas last week.
Eleazar assured the families of the kidnapped victims that the police would not stop until they are brought back home and the perpetrators are delivered to justice.
The victims were identified as Mark Nelvin Caraan, Shane Despe, Carlo Fazon, Eugene Noora, Mar Christian Ore and Paulino Sebastian.
They were among eight friends who were on their way home to Dasmariñas City, Cavite, from a vacation in a beach in Lian, Batangas.
While along the Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 29, four sports utility vehicles stopped their van. According to the two women who managed to escape, armed men forcibly opened their vehicles and took them inside the kidnappers’ vehicles.
