TO break the barriers to women’s participation in local economic development, the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LGSP-LED) has been holding a training on “Gender and Development (GAD) Mainstreaming in Local Economic Development” since yesterday until today, Feb. 24, at the Metro Center Hotel and Convention Center in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The activity is participated by around 30 GAD focal persons from LGSP-LED-assisted provinces and local government alliances, including the Panglao-Dauis-Baclayon-Bohol Marine Triangle Management Council Inc. headed by Dauis Mayor Jaime Jimenez.

The training is part of LGSP-LED’s strategy to mainstream GAD and guide select local government units in designing and implementing economic development initiatives to ensure equal participation of women and men.
