Tesda-trained fabricators find work
THE metal fabricators service group from Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental was contracted by a Manila-based firm to supply its need for newspaper racks.
The group were trained at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authrioty (Tesda) under its Specialista Technopreneurship Program.
Tesda provincial director Toni June Tamayo said Manila Bulletin, a newspaper company, has contracted the services of the group after knowing their capability.
The program was launched in Manila at the Tesda national office last Feb. 10 by President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
One of the highlights of the launching was the testimony of Ruben Ramirez Jr., a representative of the metal fabricators’ service group, on the success of the program.
Ramirez said that the program benefitted them financially and provided them security in times of crisis.
