1 dead, 3 injured in Batangas road crash

LUCENA CITY – A car passenger died while three others were seriously injured in a road accident in Lipa City, Batangas early Sunday.
The Lipa City police said Kurt Vincent Maghirang, 19, died on the spot due to serious injuries.
Investigation showed that Audrinne Alexis Alfonso, 21, lost control of the car he was driving while negotiating a section of the highway in Barangay Lumbang at around 2:45 a.m.
The wayward vehicle hit a mango tree, waiting shed, steel cage and a steel post with signage before it crashed into a store.
Alfonso and two other passengers – James Manalo and Matthew Landig, both 21 years old – sustained injuries and were taken to NL Villa Memorial Medical Center in the city center.
Further investigation is ongoing.
