MANILA, Philippines — Bernie Ferrer Cruz is the new acting secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Palace spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed on Saturday.
Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte signed on October 28 the appointment of Cruz.
“We are confident that Acting Secretary Cruz will continue to oversee the completion of DAR’s programs and projects in the remaining months of the current government,” Roque said in a statement.
“We wish Acting Secretary Cruz all the best in his new assignment,” he added.
Cruz replaced John Castriciones, who resigned to run for Senate in the upcoming polls.
He was also DAR’s undersecretary for foreign assisted and special projects office prior to his appointment.
