PH receives over 1 million AstraZeneca COVID vaccine doses from Japan

MANILA, Philippines — Over one million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by Japan arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Saturday.

The 1,065,600 vaccine doses will augment the over 100 million doses already delivered to the country.

A total of 58 million COVID-19 vaccine shots have so far been administered as of October 28.

More than 26.8 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated while 31 million have already received their first dose.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government aims to administer 1.5 million doses per day in the fourth quarter of the year.
