Woman nabbed for alleged possession of illegal drugs, guns in Zambales

A man who was simply reminded to wear his face mask properly in Taguig surprised several police officers when he acted strangely.SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––Police arrested a 38-year-old woman after her house in the capital town of Iba allegedly yielded illegal drugs and firearms during a search Friday, Oct. 29.

Col. Romano Cardiño, provincial police director, identified the suspect as Maria Theresa Calimlim of Sitio Takipan, Purok 2, Barangay Palanginan.

Police found a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson, live ammunition for a .38-caliber revolver, two plastic sachets containing alleged “shabu” (crystal meth), and other drug paraphernalia inside her residence during the search at 1:15 a.m.

Judge Mari Chua of Regional Trial Court Branch 70 in Iba issued the search warrant.
