MANILA, Philippines — About 93.2 percent of teachers and school staff who are joining the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes are already vaccinated against COVID-19 starting November 15, the Department of Education (DepEd) said on Tuesday.
“In terms of vaccination, around 93.2% of teachers and staff of participating schools are vaccinated,” the DepEd said in a statement.
DepEd highlighted this to assure the parents of the safety of the children during the conduct of face-to-face classes.
“We reiterate that stringent preparations and protocols have been established to provide maximum protection for our learners and other participating stakeholders in this critical undertaking,” the department said.
DepEd also said that students’ participation in the pilot in-person classes is voluntary, as parents are required to provide written consent allowing their children to join.
