2 LPAs spotted inside PAR; cloudy, wet weekend in Visayas, parts of Mindanao — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Two low pressure areas (LPAs) within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) are currently being monitored, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday morning.
According to Pagasa, one of the LPAs was located 75 kilometers southeast of Tacloban City, Leyte and is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) that is affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the other LPA was spotted 100 kilometers west southwest of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.
“Itong dalawang LPA na ito ay magdudulot ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan sa buong bahagi ng Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) at Palawan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda.
(These two LPAs will bring scattered rains to the entire Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and Palawan.)
Meanwhile, Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeasterly surface windflow.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 26 to 31 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 26 to 28 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius
