MANILA, Philippines — About 60,000 customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. in Manila’s Sampaloc District should brace for three and a half days of dry taps starting at 11 a.m. on Oct. 25 as the company realigns a main pipe to give way to a flood control project of the Department of Public Works and Highways. Also to be affected are 361,000 customers in Las Piñas, Makati, Parañaque, Pasay, and Cavite, which will have no water for at least 15 hours and up to 34 hours between Oct. 25 and Oct. 28. “We encourage our affected customers to store enough water for the duration of the service interruption,” Ronaldo Padua, vice president and head of water supply operations of Maynilad, told a press briefing. To mitigate the impact on customers, Maynilad will install 14 stationary water tanks and deploy 60 mobile water tankers to the affected areas.
