CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — As patients recovering from COVID-19 continue to outnumber those who contract the disease, the active cases here went down by 690 within a week, data from the city government has shown.
The 1,295 active cases on October 11 were reduced to only 605 on Sunday, October 17.
The city also recorded 16 new cases, 114 recoveries, and a single death on Sunday. The fatality was a resident of Del Pilar village.
It has registered a total of 11,025 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 10,118 have recovered while 302 have died.
As of October 15, the city government was able to fully inoculate 115,952 residents against COVID-19. The number comprises 47.9 percent of the 242,102 target population.
It said 157,808 others are waiting for their second dose of the vaccines. INQ
