DOH detects 633 more COVID-19 Delta variant cases
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reorted that 633 more COVID-19 Delta variant cases were detected.
The DOH recently sequenced 748 samples, where 633 were Delta variant cases, three Alpha variant cases, and six Beta variant cases.
With the latest figures, there are now 4,431 COVID-19 Delta variant cases detected in the country, along with 2,938 Alpha variant cases are 2,938, and 3,313 Beta variant cases.
As of October 17,2021, a total of 17,147 samples were sequenced, 88.46 percent or 15,168 were listed with lineages.
Incoming international travelers make up 962 or 5.61 percent of the sequenced samples.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the Delta variant is present in all regions nationwide.

Meanwhile, the presence of either Alpha or Beta COVID-19 variants are detected in all regions.
