PH logs 7,772 new COVID-19 cases
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 7,772 new COVID-19 cases in the country on Saturday, pushing the total number of cases to 2,713,509.
In its daily case bulletin, the DOH said there remained 85,048 active cases. Of this number, the majority or 81.7 percent were mild cases, 6.3 percent asymptomatic, 1.5 percent in critical condition, 3.6 percent severe, and 6.8 percent moderate.
The positivity rate in the country stands at 13 percent, which means that of the 54,174 individuals tested on Thursday, 7,042 tested positive for the virus.
The DOH also said 64 percent of all intensive care unit beds in the country, and 48 percent of all COVID-19 ward beds are currently occupied, while 49 percent of all isolation beds and 47 percent of all mechanical ventilators are currently in use. One laboratory failed to submit its data on time, while 55 duplicate cases were removed from the total case count.
The DOH also said 81 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths following final validation.
