BACOLOD CITY – An official of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) has filed his certificate of candidacy for congressman of the Negros Occidental’s fifth district on Friday, October 8.

SRA Board member Emilio “Dino” Yulo III is challenging incumbent Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo and Anthony Javelosa, a former Himamaylan City barangay captain.

Yulo is a former vice governor and fifth district board member of Negros Occidental.

Arroyo, on the other hand, is the sister-in-law of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

“It is important that the people of the fifth district are given a choice,” said Yulo, who is also a lawyer.

If elected, Yulo said he wants to work for the restoration of the Negros Island Region.
