MANILA, Philippines — Over 2.1 million doses of Moderna’a COVID-19 vaccine and 661,100 doses from AstraZeneca arrived in the Philippines on Friday morning.
The latest batch of vaccines, procured by the national government and private sector, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 9:20 a.m., as shown on a livestream by state-run PTV.
The National Task Force against COVID-19 said the AstraZeneca doses were all procured by the private sector while 1,384,280 million Moderna vaccines were bought by the government and 747,860 doses were purchased by the private sector.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the country’s COVID-19 vaccine supply may reach over 100 million doses by the end of October.
