MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga —The two-term mayor here on Thursday (Oct. 7) filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) under the Kapanalig at Kambilan ding Memalen Pampanga (Kambilan) political party.
Mayor Crisostomo Garbo was accompanied by his running mate, reelectionist Vice Mayor Gerald Guttrie Aquino, and the other members of his team who also filed their respective COCs.
Kambilan party’s candidates for councilors here include former three-term Councilor and radio broadcaster Rox Peña, Association of Barangay Captains president Marjorie Sambo, former Vice Mayor Noel Castro, former Board Member Cherry Manalo, and reelectionists Liza Pineda, Jun Castro, Timmy Dee, Jerry Magsino, Cocoy Tiglao and Carlo Dizon.
Kambilan is the local party organized several years back by Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda and now headed by Gov. Dennis Pineda.
Independent mayoralty candidate Diosdado “Deng” Pangilinan, a local broadcaster, is challenging Garbo. He filed his COC for mayor here on Oct. 4.
