Duterte Youth for senior citizens? Partylist named after Duterte files CONA to represent ‘former youth’

MANILA, Philippines — A partylist named after President Rodrigo Duterte filed a certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) on Thursday to represent “former youth” in the House of Representatives.

Bernardo “Bambi” Tensuan, president of Duterte KBGAN (Kaibigan), filed the CONA of the partylist at the Harbor Garden Tent at Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.

Asked what sector their partylist represent, Tensuan said: “Ang mga dating kabataan na matatanda na ngayon.”

Tensuan said that while their partylist is not affiliated with Duterte, he expressed admiration for the “phenomenal” president.

“Wala kaming kaugnayan diyan, subalit kami ay namulat na si Duterte ay isang phenomenon, na sa aming pananaw ay katulad ni President [Ferdinand] Marcos.

(We are not affiliated with him, but we are aware that Duterte is a phenomenon, which in our perspective, equals that of President Ferdinand Marcos.)
