ILOILO CITY—Aklan Rep. Teodorico Haresco on Thursday (Oct. 7) filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for a second term as representative of the province’s second congressional district.
Haresco is running under the Tibyog Akean, the provincial party that has been dominating politics in Aklan.
Earlier party mates in Tibyog Akean also filed their COCs. They included Carlito Marquez, running for reelection as first district congressman and Reynaldo Quimpo, running for reelection as vice governor.
Ibajay Mayor Jose Enrique Miraflores, son of Gov. Florencio Miraflores, filed a COC for governor to try to keep the top provincial post within the family as his father was already on his last term this year.
Also on Thursday, Rep. Lorenz Defensor filed a COC for a second term.
