‘Visionary’ woman files COC for governor of Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY––A woman who claims to be a “visionary” and “psychic” is running for governor of Negros Occidental.

Maria Socorro Sibulan Okada, 50, of La Carlota City filed Wednesday her certificate of candidacy for governor as an independent at the Commission on Elections office at the social hall of the Capitol.

Okada said she had a vision of Mama Mary, who showed her a sign to lead a group of people.

However, she said her vision did not reveal whether she would win or not.

She lived in Japan for more than 20 years and has two children who work there. Her husband died in December, she said.

Okada is so far the lone opponent of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who is seeking reelection.
