MANILA, Philippines — Lt. Col. Jigger Noceda, the former head of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center, has been dismissed from the service due to the sexual assault complaint of former Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, who is still detained at the facility due to drug-related charges.

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) issued the decision on the officer’s dismissal last March 25. He filed a motion for reconsideration that was denied on June 13, according to information relayed by PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar on Wednesday.

However, Noceda still has a pending appeal before National Appellate Board (NAP) under the Napolcom.

FEATURED STORIES

Noceda was relieved last October 2020 after Parojinog lodged a criminal complaint against him for rape, acts of lasciviousness, unjust vexation, and violation of the Safe Spaces Act.

According to a source contacted by INQUIRER.net at that time, Parojinog’s complaints were based on two separate incidents, on June 9 and Sept. 7  in 2020.

In the first incident, Noceda was said to have asked for a selfie with Parojinog, whom he then kissed.

In the second incident, Noceda allegedly pinned Parojinog to a wall and groped her.

Parojinog is detained at the Custodial Center on illegal firearms and drug-related charges.

She was arrested in a pre-dawn police raid in her Ozamiz City home on July 30, 2017, during which her father, former Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, and six others were killed.
