Ebdane seeks reelection as Zambales gov

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. filed Wednesday, Oct. 6, his certificate of candidacy (COC) for a second term.

The former secretary of the Department of National Defense is running under the local party Sulong Zambales, which he founded in 2012.

He has served as the governor of the province from 2010 and 2016. He was reelected in 2019, beating his longtime political rival, Amor Deloso, who was then seeking a second term.

Ebdane’s son, outgoing Iba town Mayor Jun Rundstedt, also filed his COC for a provincial board member.

Earlier, Jun Omar, another son of Ebdane, filed his COC for mayor of Botolan town.
