MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and other parts of western Luzon on Wednesday will continue to experience cloudy skies and rainy weather due to the trough of Tropical Depression Lannie, the state weather bureau said.

“Itong bagyong ito ay wala nang direktang epekto sa ating bansa kaya wala pong nakataas na Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in a public briefing.

(This typhoon no longer has direct effect in our country that’s why there are no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals raised in any parts of the country.)

“Pero yung extension area o yung tinatawag na trough ay umaabot pa rin sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon,” Aurelio added.

(But its extension area or the trough still reaches the western part of Luzon.)

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Mimaropa will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms as an effect of TD Lannie’s trough.

The rest of the country will have a fair weather condition with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Gale warning was also raised over the seaboards of northern Luzon and the western seaboards of southern Luzon due to TD Lannie.

Moderate to rough seas would also prevail over the remaining western seaboard of Luzon and the eastern seaboard of the country.

“These conditions are risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions,” Pagasa said.

Pagasa said that TD Lannie will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday morning.
