Uy formalizes reelection bid as Catbalogan City mayor

TACLOBAN CITY — The mayor of Catbalogan City in Samar province would be seeking reelection in next year’s elections.

Mayor Dexter Uy filed his certificate of candidacy at the city office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at past 3 p.m. on Tuesday together with his entire slate.

Uy’s running mate is his father, Coefredo, the incumbent vice mayor of the city.

Also included in the slate was Stephany Uy-Tan, who is seeking a post in the council.

Uy and his group are running under the Nacionalista Party (NP).

Prior to their filing, Uy’s group attended a Mass followed by a motorcade on the main streets of the city.
