QC Mayor Joy Belmonte launches reelection bid, files COC
MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Tuesday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 elections to seek a second term.
Belmonte filed her COC with her running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Gian Sotto at around 8 a.m., under local party Serbisyo sa Bayan.
“It is with a great sense of honor and humility that I officially filed my Certificate of Candidacy (COC) to seek a second term as Mayor of Quezon City,” Belmonte said in a statement. “I hope and pray that our beloved QCitizens will once again entrust me with the stewardship of our great city.”
“With your kind support, we can continue the strong momentum we have gained in terms of programs and projects, particularly jumpstarting the economy and creating better livelihood opportunities,” Belmonte added.
She continued: “My other priority includes housing and security of land tenure for our QCitizens, as part of the overall 14-point agenda that our administration has outlined.”
Article continues after this advertisementBefore being elected city mayor in 2019, Belmonte served as Quezon City vice mayor for three terms from 2010 to 2019.

Defensor will have Winnie Castelo as his running mate.
