Cops nab construction worker in Quezon buy-bust

LUCENA CITY––A construction worker was arrested for selling shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation Tuesday in Sariaya town in Quezon province.

Sariaya police, in a report, identified the suspect as Rommel Rodriguez, 49, a resident of Lucena City.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed the suspect after selling a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay Tumbaga 1 around 1:45 a.m.

The suspect yielded four sachets of shabu worth P9,408 in the street market. The police also found Rodriguez to be carrying a kitchen knife when arrested.

The suspect was detained and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He will also be slapped with another case for illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
