Pagasa hoists signal No.1 in northern Palawan as TD Lannie crosses Visayas

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression (TD) Lannie has crossed the northern portion of Palawan on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its 8 a.m. bulletin, said northern Palawan is under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

TD Lannie, the center of which is located over the coastal waters of El Nido, Palawan, was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph, moving westward at 25 kph.

Lannie will continue its northwestward track and west northwest track over the West Philippine Sea away from the country, according to Pagasa.

Pagasa also said Lannie is likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday afternoon or evening.
