Olongapo City sees more COVID recoveries than new cases

OLONGAPO CITY–At least 34 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the city, outnumbering new cases, local data showed on Sunday (Oct. 3).

Only nine new infections had been recorded on the same day, which further brought down to 465 the city’s active cases.

It was the fourth consecutive day that the city logged more recoveries than new infections, according to local task force data.

So far, the city has registered 5,192 COVID-19 cases since 2020 and at least 4,460 had already survived, reflecting an 86 percent recovery rate, which was a slight improvement from previous days’ records.

But the city’s death toll rose to 267 on the same day following the death of a 54-year-old man.
