Pasay City mayor files COC for reelection
MANILA, Philippines — Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) on Monday for reelection in the 2022 elections.
Calixto-Rubiano will run under the banner of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
“Marami pa po tayong kailangang gawin at tapusin para sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan lalo na sa pagpapaunlad sa kanilang buhay sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng hanapbuhay, at sana ay pagbigyan nila ako at pagkatiwalaang muli,” Calixto-Rubiano said in a statement.
(We have many more projects that need to be done and finished for the sake of our constituents, especially for the improvement of their lives through the provision of jobs. I hope that they will give me a chance and trust me anew.)
The mayor explained that she intends to continue her programs on health and housing, education, environment, economy, livelihood, and peace and order.
During her COC filing, Calixto-Rubiano told her constituents that the local government will bounce back from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Kaya sa susunod nating termino, tulong-tulong pa rin tayo at sama-sama nating ulit bawiin ang mga panahong kinuha sa ating ng COVID 19. Babawi tayo at sama-sama tayong babangon,” the mayor said.
(In our next term, we’ll help one another and come together to get the time we lost due to COVID-19. We’ll bounce back together.)
“Hindi kayang pasukuin ng kahit anong mabigat na hamon ang pagnanais ng aking puso at ng buong Team Calixto ang aming pagnanais iangat ang kalidad ng buhay ng bawat pamilya dito sa ating lungsod. Di tayo susoko. Di tayo bibitiw. Walang maiiwan. Walang mangiiwan,” she added.
(No big challenge could hinder me and the whole Team Calixto from helping our residents improve the quality of their lives. We will not give up. No one will be left behind.)
Calixto-Rubiano, along with her entire ticket, filed their COCs at the local office of the Commission on Elections in Pasay City.
