COC filing Day 4: List of aspirants for national posts in 2022 elections
MANILA, Philippines — Four days have passed since the Commission on Elections (Comelec) began accepting certificates of candidacy (COC), and many candidates have since submitted their COCs.
On Monday, the first to arrive in Harbor Garden Tent was Narciso “Casecnan” Solis, an independent candidate, who lodged his COC for senator as early as 9:01 a.m.
Solis is a miner from Baguio who seeks to revive the country’s economy.
Meanwhile, the first to file for the presidency at 9:07 a.m. was Sonny Boy Andrade, an independent candidate.
A few hours after the first aspiring president, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, also vying for the presidency, arrived at the venue at around 11:40 a.m. along with his running-mate Dr. Willie Ong.
They both filed their COCs at exactly 11:44 a.m.
In the afternoon, another unfamiliar face, aspiring president Melchor Puno, filed his COC at 2:32 p.m.
He was the 11th candidate to vie for the presidency on the fourth day of the COC filing.
Meanwhile, a whopping total of 16 candidates lodged their COCs to join the senatorial race. This includes a complete senate slate under the Philippine Green Republican Party (PGRP).
A candidate for both president and vice president also filed their COC under the said party.
Ipatupad for Workers also filed their COC at 4:04 p.m; aspiring president Winston Kayanan at 4:04 p.m. and Senator aspirant Jennet “Genie” Tam, who filed hers at 4:20 p.m.
Kayanan was the 12th president aspirant to file his COC, and Tam the 16th.
The last filer of the day was celebrity Chef Boy Logro who filed the COC of his own party, the Aangat Kusinerong Pinoy.
