Former youth leader seeks seat in Bohol town council
BOHOL, Philippines — A former youth leader is seeking a seat in the council of Sevilla town in this province.
Marie Karen Joy Digal-Asoy, a member of PDP-Laban, on Sunday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections.
Asoy is the daughter of former Sevilla mayors Ceferino and Ernesita Digal.
Before filing her COC, Asoy first visited the cemetery to ask for her father’s blessing.
“My father is always my inspiration when it comes to public service. He shaped the small town of Sevilla into what it is today. Remember that I will always be daddy’s little girl,” said Asoy.
She believes that she can give fresh ideas if she is elected.
“I want to serve the community especially the youth and women,” she said.
