MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Navy on Friday (Oct 1) hailed newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez for her victory in the beauty pageant.
The 26-year-old Cebuana is a Philippine Navy reservist (Marines) with a rank of corporal at the Naval Reserve Center – Eastern Visayas.
“The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 is not just a crowned queen but also fills the coveted shoes of a warrior,” the Naval Reserve Command said in a statement.
“Before marching her way to the stage, Cpl Gomez is truly a weekend warrior joining several outreach programs and volunteering to go to different barangays in Cebu City to participate in the feeding programs,” the Naval Reserve Command said.
Gomez will represent the Philippines in the 70th Miss Universe competition in Israel this December.
