MANILA, Philippines — Some 2.5 million doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Friday.
The vaccines arrived via a Philippines Airlines flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at around 5:40 p.m., as shown on a livestream by state-run PTV.
The National Task Force against COVID-19 said the national government procured the Sinovac vaccines.
The shipment brings the total COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered to the country to over 73 million.
This month, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the country’s COVID-19 vaccine supply is expected to reach 100 million doses.

Meanwhile, the number of fully vaccinated individuals against COVID-19 in the country has surpassed 21 million.
