MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Policemen allegedly confiscated 636 grams of dried marijuana leaves from a suspected drug peddler in a buy-bust operation on Thursday, Sept. 30, at Maligaya village in Tarlac City.
Col. Renante Cabico, Tarlac police director, said joint drug enforcement operatives from the provincial and city police conducted the sting operation at 3:15 p.m. against Warren Antalan, 21, of Guevarra village in La Paz town, Tarlac.
Using a marked P1,000 bill, an undercover policeman bought two sachets of marijuana from the suspect.
The police allegedly seized more marijuana leaves packed in 84 pieces of small sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag from Antalan, who is on the list of suspected drug personalities in Tarlac.
Cabico said the confiscated marijuana leaves had a street value of around P76,300.
He said the suspect was bought initially to the Tarlac police crime laboratory for a drug test and the examination of the seized illegal drugs.
Antalan was detained at the provincial police headquarters in Camp Francisco Macabulos, Tarlac City.
The suspect faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
