300 inmates in Mabalacat City inoculated against COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The city government has vaccinated some 300 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Angeles City.

In a statement, the city government said Mabalacat Mayor Crisostomo Garbo sent Friday, Oct. 1, a team to the Angeles City District Jail to vaccinate the inmates from Mabalacat against COVID-19.

It said Garbo had heeded the call of the BJMP for the vaccination of the PDLs in its jail facilities.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, this city registered 22 new COVID-19 cases, 47 recoveries, and three deaths. Two of the fatalities were residents of Dapdap village, while the third was from Mawaque.

Mabalacat recorded 268 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday.

Since the pandemic began last year, it recorded 6,862 cases, of which 6,397 have recovered while 197 have died.

The city government said it had vaccinated 210,000 residents as of Sept. 21. It did not provide the numbers of fully vaccinated and those who received the first dose of the vaccines or other details. INQ
