Risa Hontiveros files candidacy for reelection to Senate

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Risa Hontiveros on Friday filed her certificate of candidacy for reelection in the May 2022 polls.

Hontiveros personally appeared at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel hotel in Pasay City at around noon to formalize her bid for another term in the Senate.

Before filing her COC, Hontiveros went to Malate Catholic Church together with members of the Akbayan Party. She was a partylist representative for Akbayan from 2004-2010 and is currently the party’s national chairperson.

Her initial shots for a Senate seat were unsuccessful in 2010 and 2013. She finally won to become a senator in 2016.
