Homeowners of a 5.2-hectare lot covered by the 93-1 Ordinance is a step closer to buying the Capitol-owned property in barangay Busay.
Yesterday, the Cebu Provincial Board authorized Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to enter into an agreement with Skyview Homeowners Association for the purchase of lots 3 and lots 4 in barangay Busay, Cebu City.
PB Member Alex Binghay said that the PB agreed to amend the resolution before approving it.
The PB included the phrase “subject to the strict compliance of all existing rules and regulations of the Commission on Audit and of other agencies with relevant laws governing thereto” to the title.
Binghay said the PB was more careful with approving memorandum of agreements that the province of Cebu would enter into especially after the controversial Balili case.
The PB also introduced a specific time of payment in the agreement.
They’ve agreed during the session to give the homeowners association six months to pay purchase price.
The MOA pegged the cost of lots 3 and 4 in barangay Busay at P3,300 per square meter.
Prior to the PB session, PB members met with Provincial Assessor Engineer Anthony Sususco.
He presented a copy of the minutes of the meeting of the Cebu Provincial Appraisal Committee last Feb. 9.
The P3,300 per square meter price was the total of the zonal value, opinion values and schedule of market value divided by two.
Last month, the homeowners group met with Governor Garcia to relay their wish to buy the barangay Busay lots.
Garcia then met with the PB to discuss the homeowners association’s proposal.
It was also indicated in the MOA that the selling price of the lots is payable under such terms and conditions that may be later on agreed by the parties in coordination with some lending agencies. /Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
