TAGBILARAN CITY – A transport operator in Bohol is offering free rides to healthcare workers in the province.
Joselino Baritua, consultant of Bohol Airport Drivers and Operators Transport Service Cooperative (BADOTSCO), said they launched the “Libreng Sakay for Health Care Workers” starting Tuesday, Sept. 29.
“This is to give assistance to health workers for their comfortable ride going back to their respective workplaces and homes,” said Baritua.
“This will provide relief on the health workers’ transport cost and in a way help in minimizing or lessen the stress from their work due to the COVID-19 cases,” he added.
The “Libreng Sakay” allocated three units of vans from Tubigon-Tagbilaran-Tubigon with destinations, including major hospitals such Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital, Ramiro Community Hospital, Medical Mission Group Hospital and Health Services, Allied Care Experts Medical Hospital and Bohol Doctors Hospital.
Baritua said health care workers only need to present their identification cards that indicate where they work. They also need to wear face masks and shields to avail themselves of the free rides.
