Tesda warns public on fake National Certificates sold online
MANILA, Philippines — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) on Wednesday warned the public about fake National Certificates (NCs) that are being sold on social media.
Several Facebook groups offering NCs for different technical-vocational courses were reported to the agency. TESDA warned that fake NCs are also being submitted to employers for job requirements.
“Ang tunay na NC po ay hindi for sale. Ang isang indibidwal na nakapasa lamang sa competency assessment ang entitled para magawaran ng NC,” TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said in a statement.
(The real NC is not for sale. Only an individual who has passed the competency assessment is entitled to be awarded the NC.)
Lapeña said the agency is already taking steps with the authorities to stop this practice.
