ANGELES CITY––Some 143,969 or 44.4 percent of the target individuals here have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, data from the city government showed.
As of Sept. 25, some 161,924 residents, or 49.9 percent of at least 324,000 eligible individuals, have been jabbed once.
On its Facebook page, the city government said 178,105 residents had received their first dose of the vaccines after including the 16,981 recipients of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine in the number.
The vaccine recipients include health workers and medical frontliners, the elderly, people with comorbidities, essential workers, and indigents.
The vaccines administered to the residents include Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Pfizer, Moderna, and Sinopharm.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, this city registered 23 new COVID-19 cases, 21 new recoveries, and zero deaths. These were significant improvements from 44 new ones, 46 recovered, and seven deaths a day earlier.
The city has recorded 11,679 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 9,772 have recovered, while 469 have died. INQ
