Farmer gunned down in Nueva Ecija

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija––A 50-year-old farmer was killed Sunday evening by a gunman in front of other farmworkers here, police said.

Investigators identified the victim as Benito de Luna, a resident of Barangay Sta. Barbara in this town. He suffered multiple bullet wounds in his body.

The suspect, identified as Joselito Gatos, is now the subject of a manhunt.

Witnesses said the victim was working inside a compound in Sta. Barbara when Gatos arrived and shot him three times.

Investigators have yet to establish the motive behind the attack.
