Active COVID-19 cases in Zambales hit new all-time high at 1,082
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this province reached another all-time high on Thursday (Sept. 23) as health officials reported more than 100 new infections in two consecutive days.
According to the provincial health office, at least 116 new infections were reported on Wednesday and 129 new infections were logged on Thursday.
These figures raised to 1,082 the province’s active cases, surpassing the record-high 1,054 on Sept. 19.
At least 161 more patients were cleared of the virus, pushing the total number of recoveries to 7,002 as of Thursday.
So far, the province has logged a total of 8,101 COVID-19 cases and 317 fatalities.
